  • After months of close collaboration with the community of Karlshagen, thandsome proudly opened Door No. 17449 in September 2025. This special installation was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Heinz-Wieker Foundation.

Door No. 17449 marks a new chapter in The Door Project: it is the very first door to stand by the Baltic Sea, expanding the artistic journey that began with Door No. 1 in Harlesiel on the North Sea coast.

Now, the surreal presence of a black door connects two shores — North Sea and Baltic Sea — symbolizing not only a geographical link, but also a shared vision of art that transcends borders and opens new perspectives.

  • Support the Karlshagen Nature Conservation Center

Tucked away in the idyllic dunes, our center showcases the rich diversity of habitats and species found on the island of Usedom. Alongside our exhibition, we offer guided nature tours several times a week for visitors of all ages.

However, both the exhibition and the building have grown a little outdated over the years. To give the center a fresh, modern look and continue inspiring future generations, we need your support.

With your donation, you can help us redesign and revitalize the Nature Conservation Center Karlshagen.
